Absolutely nothing happened.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1452995833452_29643\" dir=\"ltr\">Sorry for the &#8220;catchy-title&#8221; but in today&#8217;s day and age, where it seems like our cell phones are an extension of our body, it&#8217;s sometimes crazy to think that we would leave the house without one.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8555\" style=\"width: 694px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8555\" class=\"wp-image-8555 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/DSC_0942-684x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Tape is for effect, but it's not far from the truth! \" width=\"684\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/DSC_0942-684x1024.jpg 684w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/DSC_0942-201x300.jpg 201w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/DSC_0942-300x449.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/DSC_0942.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 684px) 100vw, 684px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-8555\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tape is for effect, but it&#8217;s not far from the truth!<\/p><\/div>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1452995833452_29664\" dir=\"ltr\">We were short on diapers and a few other essentials (Cheerios, Star Wars band aids&#8230; you know, the important stuff), so when my parents were over, I took advantage of their time here and decided to venture out on my own (a rarity for me as a stay at home to three young boys). While I said my good-byes to my five and three year old, I tried to sneak out without Nate, my 16 month old, noticing. He&#8217;s in a very clingy phase and I just thought it would be easier. So as I headed for the door, I realized that my cell phone was across the room, all the way on the other side of the main floor. Do I risk being seen by Nate? I just headed straight out the door and\u00a0didn&#8217;t look back.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1452995833452_29665\" dir=\"ltr\">And you know what? I survived! Not only that, but I remembered my entire shopping list by heart (using my brain\u00a0no less). I was able to concentrate without any distractions and truly enjoy my &#8220;alone&#8221; time. I even treated myself to some Starbucks and had meaningful conversations with random people (part of my 2016 resolutions).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8558\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8558\" class=\"size-large wp-image-8558\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/20160122_201747_resized-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Cell phones are handy - for family pictures!\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/20160122_201747_resized-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/20160122_201747_resized-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-8558\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cell phones are handy &#8211; for family pictures!<\/p><\/div>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1452995833452_29666\" dir=\"ltr\">Granted I was out only for one hour but I &#8220;survived&#8221; and it actually felt good. Sure, our cell phones are great for emergencies but they&#8217;re really just for convenience. I mean, we don&#8217;t really need to be connected 24\/7 which is what I do since I&#8217;m slightly addicted to my cell phone.
