(the best baby gender reveal EVER!!)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are two very different views when it comes\u00a0to finding out\u00a0a baby&#8217;s gender*.\u00a0\u00a0Some people can&#8217;t wait to find out as soon\u00a0as possible\u00a0(generally around 18 &#8211; 20 weeks),\u00a0while others prefer to keep it as a &#8220;surprise&#8221; until they deliver.\u00a0 John and I are in the camp of &#8220;can&#8217;t wait to find out&#8221; and we did as soon as possible.\u00a0 My mom was also with us at the ultrasound, and we immediately called the rest of our family to share the news with them.\u00a0\u00a0Later on in the day, we also posted the news that we&#8217;re having a BOY on Facebook (of course!).<\/p>\n<p>However, our good friends Andrea and Mike wanted the best of both worlds.\u00a0 They wanted to know their baby&#8217;s gender but also\u00a0wanted the\u00a0element of\u00a0surprise.<a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/ma.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-783\" title=\"M&amp;A\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/ma.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/ma.jpg 3264w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/ma-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/ma-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 And so, to make their special day even more amazing, they decided to\u00a0throw an intimate (immediate\u00a0family only) baby gender reveal party.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After going for the ultrasound on\u00a0Thursday last week, the\u00a0excited parents-to-be, asked the technician to write out the baby&#8217;s gender on a\u00a0card and seal it.\u00a0 They immediately took\u00a0the card to their friend, who is a baker.\u00a0\u00a0The friend\u00a0made them special cupcakes that would have\u00a0either\u00a0blue or pink filling, depending on the baby&#8217;s gender.<a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cupcakes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-782\" title=\"cupcakes\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cupcakes.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cupcakes.jpg 2448w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cupcakes-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cupcakes-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mike and Andrea\u00a0had to wait four days to find out the gender of their baby as the party wasn&#8217;t held until Sunday.\u00a0 So&#8230;.\u00a0was it blue?
