It seems like no matter where you’re from in the world, almost everyone is familiar with Sesame Street or at least with some of its lovable characters. Even in Israel, where I was born and raised we had Sesame Street (in Hebrew). Most of the characters were the same, but there were a few differences. Mainly, we had a porcupine as the main character instead of Big Bird. Nonetheless, it was a beloved show that not only entertained, but has taught kids many things including language, kindness and respect for others and the planet.

While my kids don’t watch Sesame Street as much as I did (I mean, it competes with Paw Patrol & Bubble Guppies), they still all love the furry and lovable Elmo. I mean, who doesn’t! They also enjoying reading Sesame Street themed books so they’ve become familiar with the show’s characters through their love of reading.
