I asked my neighbor and friend, who is also a stay at home mom to review Nexcare Sensitive Skin line on behalf of my blog. Ashley has two kids, a boy and a girl, and she also happens to be a kick-ass writer. She’s honest and a very caring, hands-on mom and I knew she would do a great job reviewing these products. Here is her take on Nexcare Sensitive Skin Line of products.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just as I was lamenting the state of my kids’ “summer legs” I received a sweet package in the mail: the new Nexcare Sensitive Skin line. Perfect. Anything to cover up their myriad (and half the time, mysterious) bumps, cuts and bruises from a summer of playgrounds, cottages, or let’s face it, just walking down the sidewalk.
I was intrigued by the “sensitive skin” part – especially a hypoallergenic adhesive – mainly because both of my kids do have sensitive skin, especially in the summer. In fact, we have to be really careful what kind of bandages we buy or my daughter will end up with tiny red bumps from the adhesive or bandage itself, long after the cut has healed.
It didn’t take long before I could put one to the test: A fresh cut from a trip to the local park. The Nexcare Sensitive Skin Adhesive Pads, were easy to use (no fumbling with paper-backing, in fact they’re plastic) and large enough that I didn’t have to make a diy-quilt of three different ones stuck together that are sure to fall off within the hour. In fact, the bandage fit and stuck so well it didn’t even budge during, or after, bathtime.
But the real test – and there’s a reason for the saying, “it’s like pulling off a bandage” – is how loudly would she scream when I tried to pull it off. And true to their word, it really was a “pain-free” removal. No muss, no fuss, my 5 year old actually did it herself with no tears.
In addition to the Adhesive Pads, there’s the Nexcare Sensitive Skin Low Trauma Tape. Now I’ve only had to use tape once and knock-on-wood never again because that usually signifies a very large cut, but I can see that tearing easily (it does, I tried) would be very, very helpful. Unlike the time I had to run around looking for scissors while my son bled and screamed – so needless to say, I’m happy to have a roll (used in hospitals, no less) on hand!
You can purchase Nexcare Skin products online here and in the following stores: Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobey’s Jean Coutu, Overwaitea, London Drugs and Rexall. Make sure to follow Nexcare on Facebook for more information and skin care tips.
I asked my neighbor and friend, who is also a stay at home mom to review Nexcare Sensitive Skin line on behalf of my blog.
