You may not know this, but we have a cat. For some reason, I don’t really speak about her much in my posts. However, I got her before I had any of my kids. In fact, I’ve had her for 11 years now, shortly after I moved out of my parents’ house. Also, I decided to do some research to find out why Maine Coons are expensive compared to other cat breeds.

"cat"

Growing up, I was a dog person. We owned several dogs and I have always been keen of dogs. My mom had a fear of cats and although she didn’t instill her fear in us, I was always weary of them. While I didn’t despise cats, I never met one that I liked… until I met my husbands’ parents’ cat. She was sweet and cuddly (and it helped that she didn’t have nails). Since I was moving out on my own, I thought it would be nice to have some companionship and a cat was easy to take care of (compared to a dog), small and my landlord allowed it.

"Don't

Don’t let this face fool you. She’s the friendliest cat you’ll ever meet.

For some strange reason which I can’t seem to recall (probably because I blocked it out of my mind), we named her Baby Kit Kat. I remember being with my cat at the vet one time and hearing the receptionist say “Baby Kit Kat Yablonsky?” (my maiden name) and I had to think about that twice before I realized she was calling for us. Needless to say, her name didn’t stick and we’ve been calling her kitty for 11 years now even thought she stopped being a kitten 10 years ago.

Having a cat as a pet was an easy transition for us once our family grew. Kitty is an outdoor cat which has been extremely helpful for us. She rarely uses her litter box during the year which means less clean up for us. With cats, a clean environment is key – so it’s crucial to maintain a tidy and comfortable space. Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Complete Odour Sealing Cat Litter provides a 7-day odour-free home, guaranteed – great for your busy schedule and your cat!

"A&H

So while we don’t have a lot of time for her these days, Kitty is a happy cat. She has a great home and she is loved and fed, which is of greatest importance to her. She also loves all of our neighbours and they all love her. People love stopping by our porch to pet her and she loves the extra attention which is great since she isn’t getting much at home. My husband and I are typically busy with our three boys during the day so the only time we tend to spend with kitty is at night when she jumps on our bed. Our boys also love her but show it in strange ways by chasing her away and squeezing her too hard. Nate, our almost one year old, loves to yell at her. I think he’s just so excited to see her he doesn’t know how else to show it.
