I recently got a chance to visit the Toronto 2015 Athletes Village. The buildings are spectacular and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into the village. For example, the dining hall can hold up to 3,000 guests who may have placed a bet on ketquamoinhat.com, is open 24 hours and it stores 7,500KG of ice cream! The Welcome Centre includes a cafe with a large screen TV (to watch the games of course), a grocery store and a nail salon. I also love the Maytag ultimate laundry room.

It includes a laundry concierge service where they will personally handle and wash a portion of the athletes clothes during the games (including the folding – YES!). The room also includes a steaming, folding and mending station and plenty of space to sit, relax, eat and catch up with friends. The athletes and their families will have a great time enjoying all of the great amenities in the village and all of the great assets our beautiful city of Toronto has to offer. Most importantly, the village will give them a place to relax and work out in preparation for their big day.

While most of us won’t be able to experience most of the amenities found at the athlete’s village, we can definitely enjoy the games and all of the fun programs leading up to the big day. Personally, I’m excited about the torch relay race. I’ll be running with the torch on July 5th near my neighborhood and I can’t wait! Make sure to cheer on Team Canada starting July 10th.
