A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a pre-screening of Netflix’s newest show, All Hail King Julien. The event took place in a movie theater and I brought my whole family along (even our newborn) to watch the first two episodes on the big screen. We sat back, not knowing what to expect, and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. The best part was watching my almost two year old sitting on the big theater seats, grabbing popcorn from the bag and eating it while laughing out loud almost constantly. I wish I had a camera. His actions were just priceless. To say that he enjoyed the show would be an understatement! Even my four year old, who is afraid of movie theaters, enjoyed himself. They both gave the show two thumbs up. As for my husband and I (as if it matters), I have to say we really liked it too. We were both laughing out loud as much as the kids. While some of the subject matter and jokes might not be understood by kids four years old or younger, I would say that All Hail King Julien is a show that the whole family can enjoy.

King Julien is a beloved character from the Madagascar movie. He’s a lemur who is a little oblivious, talks with an accent but is extremely lovable with a can-do attitude. He’s joined by some very entertaining sidekicks including cute Mort and levelheaded Maurice. On December 19th, just in time for the holidays, the first five episodes of All Hail King Julien will be available on Netflix. Here’s a little teaser:
