Beyond the food, the gifts and the down-time, the other thing I enjoy about the holidays is getting-together with friends and loved ones. It seems that leading up to, and even after Christmas, there are tons of holidays parties. Some are for work, while some are with friends and family. Some are an excuse to get all dolled up for a fancy (and fun) night out while others are more casual and done in the daytime with kids. The celebrations are endless and the holidays are the excuse. No matter what, I love them. We all live a hectic life. Between work, our kid’s school and activities and other commitments, it’s hard to make time for regular get-togethers. It seems that around this time though, people’s schedules open up, everyone feels festive and getting together becomes a priority. It’s the magic of the season I guess.

Last weekend I got to enjoy one of these nights out with some very lovely ladies. Hosted by Lena from Listen to Lena, we enjoyed some delicious food , tasty wine and great company.

There’s nothing I enjoy more than a girl’s night out (GNO). It was great catching up with fellow bloggers, and meeting some new faces too. The event also included learning about some of the hottest toys and baby gear this season courtesy of Fisher-Price. Lena’s home turned into a showroom and we got a first-hand look at the products that I know most parents and their babies (if they could talk) would love to get this holiday season.

Having a newborn, I was drawn to some of the fabulous and chic new baby gear that was showcased. Here are two of my favourites:

1. The Deluxe Comfort Curve Bouncer. Stylish yet practical, you can turn on vibrations and it includes (removable) hanging toys for entertainment. I place my son Nathan on the seat whenever I need to get things done around the house like cook and clean. He’s happy and content and it gives my arms a much needed break.

2. The SpaceSaver Jumperoo. Holds babies up to 25 Lbs, includes eight (8) toys and activities, and has four (4) adjustable heights. Two of my favourite features are the machine-washable fabric seat and that it folds compact which makes this a must-have gear for individuals who don’t have a lot of space in their home.
