My oldest son started JK this year so I have to send him to school with snacks. His school has a litterless lunch policy and sends back any packaging waste that was sent along in his lunch box. I have to admit that this is all new territory for me. While I do my best to pack a litterless lunch box, it’s not always easy. First of all, it’s hard to find the right sized containers, find ones with lids, or find containers that my son can open easily on his own (they are big on teaching independence in his class so he doesn’t receive any assistance with his lunch). To say the least, I usually send him to school with a lot of “bags” and packaging. His lunch box comes back sticky and riddled with left over waste.
