As a kid, one of my favourite memories about going back to school was shopping for some new gear. Namely, new clothes. We didn’t have a lot of money, but my mom still managed to get me a few items each year. From a young age I loved fashion and clothes, even though my childhood pictures may tell you a different story.

This year, my son is going to school for the FIRST TIME entering junior Kindergarten. It’s a little nerve racking (for both of us) and a little exciting (for both of us). To help ease the transition, I’m making getting ready for school a fun event, as it should be. Part of that includes buying some new clothes. Not only because he needs to be “in style” but rather, he’s growing out of all of his current clothes. I’m having a hard time finding him pajama tops that cover his midriff. Same goes for shoes. Not only are his feet growing like a weed, but being so active, he wears out his shoes in a matter of months. Since he’s clearly in a growth spurt, it’s time to upgrade his entire wardrobe, shoes and all.

One of his new pair of shoes include the fashionable and comfortable canvas TOM shoes. Not only are they stylish, they’re also really easy to put on and off, which is perfect to help him feel like a “Big Boy!” In fact, my husband, 18 month old son and I all got pairs as well. TOMS one for one policy, it’s basic math that even a kindergarten student can understand. For every pair of TOMS shoes purchased, TOMS provides a new pair of shoes to children in need . Kyle thought that was pretty neat.

While TOMS canvas shoes are the most common, there are some other great styles out just in time for the Fall. You can find some great kid rain boots, wedges for ladies and suede and leather boots for men. TOMS kids shoes are available in Tiny sizes (for children 0 to 5 years of age) and Youth sizes (for children 5+ years of age) at TOMS.ca and retailers across Canada.
