As a mother of two boys with a third on the way, I know a thing or two about the costs of raising kids. It’s amazing how “simple” things quickly add up. I’m having another boy, so I know I’m able to reuse clothes and we’ve also been fortunate to receive a lot of hand-me-downs, toys and other baby gear. However, I’m still always looking for other ways to save on everyday essentials like diapers. While my oldest has been out of diapers for a year now, soon I will once again have two in diapers. On average, the cost of a box of diapers is 39.99 (i.e. Pampers Cruisers, 150 count). That can quickly add up to at least $500 a year spent on diapers (per kid); yet, it’s a necessity. It’s no wonder that I often hear of baby sprinkle showers thrown for the second or third child where the gift of choice is diapers. Parents need everyday essentials, and the shower, while low key, is meant to provide those items."amazon

Amazon Family Program

I recently got to try out Amazon.ca’s new Family Program which is organized exactly around meeting parents’ every day needs at a great price. Family members who sign up for the program receive 20% off diaper subscriptions and Unlimited free two-day shipping. On top of that, families receive exclusive promotions and discounts on various Amazon baby / kid products. The first month of the program is free, but there is an annual membership fee of $79. However, since you’re saving approximately $8 a month on diapers (if all you purchase is one box a month), the membership pays for itself in 10 months and you’ll still have saved at least $25. Realistically, you’ll probably save more since you’ll end up purchasing more than one box a month if you have multiple kids, or for your parents / in-laws who want to keep diapers at their place or as gifts for other expecting / new parents. Besides, as a busy parent, having the convenience of getting diapers delivered right to your door so quickly is priceless!"amazon-family-program"
