I don’t know about you, but I’m not a huge fan of maternity clothes. They’re expensive, there is a limited selection, the styles aren’t really stylish, and they don’t always fit properly in all the right places. That’s why I have a limited supply of maternity clothes, even though I’m currently pregnant with my third child.

The only problem was that in my previous two pregnancies, I was showing immediately. I mean, even before the 12 week mark when it’s considered appropriate to spill the beans. I could hardly hide my bump, let alone fit into any of my clothes. During my second pregnancy, I tried using belly bands in order to extend the life of my non-pregnancy clothes. The only thing is, they were so uncomfortable. They pinched and squeezed me in at all the wrong places. I barely wore them more than a handful of times.

Luckily, this time around, I was hardly showing until about 22 weeks. It felt great being able to (almost) fit into my non-pregnancy clothes for so long. But the time has come for me to face reality. The buttons on my pants just don’t do up anymore and the shirts just don’t cover my whole belly. But before I completely hand my body over to maternity clothes, I gave my regular clothes one lost shot. I tried out the Belly Button Band and Belly Button Body."Belly

The Belly Button Band

At first appearance the Belly Button band doesn’t look any different than the typical belly bands, but au contraire, it is. It has a button on it that you can attach to your pants and extra button holes to connect your regular pant button too. This ensures that it’s a nice snug fit and holds your pants up so they don’t fall off. The other nice part is that you can position the button anywhere along the 7 holes. You can adjust the fit as your belly grows."Belly

The Belly Button Body

The Belly Button Body works similarly to the band version mentioned above. The only exception is that it comes with additional fabric that goes over your belly. This further provides additional support and “holds everything together”."Belly

"BellyOverall, I like both the Belly Button band and the body versions but I prefer the Body as I feel the fit is better. I got both of these in size Medium. I would suggest that for the band, you go a size smaller than you expect but I’m glad I got a medium for the body band because of the snug fit of the band that fits over your belly. I’m so thankful I discovered these great options that allow me to extend the life of my non-maternity clothes. Suddenly, my fashion options are limitless. At least until the last month when all I want to wear is sweat pants anyway.

Belly Button Band and Body come in a variety of colours including dark gray, pink, light gray, indigo, white and black. The Belly Button band retails for $19.95 and the Belly Button Body retails for $39.95."Belly
