While at first she insisted on skipping the baby shower festivities, her sister and I convinced her otherwise. After all, how often do you have your FIRST child \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Since she and my other best-friend went all out for my son&#8217;s baby shower, I wanted to return the favour and make it just as special for both baby and mom. \u00a0With the input of my friend, we decided on the theme; High-Tea. \u00a0Together with her sister, we planned out the details of the shower including the food, decorations and activity. Here are details of the event.<\/p>\n<h1>High-tea themed baby shower decorations<\/h1>\n<p>I decided to go with a pink and yellow theme. \u00a0Pink because it&#8217;s a girl, and as a mom of boys, I NEVER get to use the colour (cliche, I know) and yellow because I decided to incorporate Winnie the Pooh into the decor. I got decorations made by my favourite local designer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SleepyOwlCo\" target=\"_blank\">Sleepy Owl Co.<\/a> They created a beautiful banner, pon-pons, tea-pot tags and food tent cards. The details in the decorations was beyond anything I could have imagined and it all came together so nicely.<a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/high-tea-themed-baby-shower-decorations.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4107\" alt=\"high tea themed baby shower decorations\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/high-tea-themed-baby-shower-decorations-1024x1024.jpg\" width=\"584\" height=\"584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/high-tea-themed-baby-shower-decorations-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/high-tea-themed-baby-shower-decorations-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/high-tea-themed-baby-shower-decorations-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/high-tea-themed-baby-shower-decorations.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a> The center piece was a beautiful diaper cake created by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CreativeEssentialz\" target=\"_blank\">Creative Essentialz<\/a>. I asked her to create something using Winnie-the-Pooh and she created a stunning (diaper) cake. Made with a Winnie the Pooh receiving blanket, bib, stroller toy and washcloth not only was it a perfect center piece, but it was also very useful. \u00a0In fact, my friend insisted that if people wanted to get her gifts, that they get her diapers. \u00a0What new parent doesn&#8217;t need diapers (for years to come&#8230;.).<a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0698.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4102\" alt=\"high tea themed baby shower decoration\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0698-1024x687.jpg\" width=\"584\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0698-1024x687.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0698-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0674.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4103\" alt=\"winnie the pooh diaper cake\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0674-687x1024.jpg\" width=\"584\" height=\"870\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0674-687x1024.jpg 687w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0674-201x300.jpg 201w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSC_0674.jpg 1944w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>High-tea themed baby shower food &amp; drinks<\/h1>\n<p>Since the theme was High-Tea, we served a variety of herbal and green-tea to our guests including mimosa and coffee. We also served party sandwiches, quinoa salad, a variety of cheeses and fruits. For dessert, we served pastries and the most delicious cupcakes. The pink and yellow cupcakes were personalized by Dusana from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DusanasHomeSweetCookie\" target=\"_blank\">Home Sweet Cookie<\/a>. Not only were the cupcakes beautifully decorated, but they tasted delicious too. \u00a0They were a big hit with my friend and the guests. Each cupcake was decorated with beautiful whimsical baby designs including a carriage, onsie, baby shoes, bottles and blocks. I printed some baby images on iron-on paper and purchased white onsies.
