For ONLY $3,000 you could own the latest and greatest laptop weighing 10 pounds with 64mb\u00a0of memory and 2gb of hard-drive space.\u00a0 Oh&#8230; you want a DVD player with that? That will be an extra $400.\u00a0 I know all of this because this was also\u00a0the first laptop\u00a0I ever\u00a0purchased.<\/p>\n<p>The waiting game for the\u00a0laptop to be delivered\u00a0would make you crazy.\u00a0 People would often call us to complain that they placed their order two weeks ago and they still haven&#8217;t received it.\u00a0 The typical lead time was a month out.\u00a0 I spent more time dealing with customer complaints than actually selling.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, things have changed significantly since 1998.\u00a0First,\u00a0prices have gone down&#8230;WAYYYYYYY down.\u00a0Second, functionality has gone up&#8230;WAYYYYYY up.\u00a0Third,\u00a0you can purchase your laptop in person rather than while\u00a0looking at a shiny brochure you received in the mail.\u00a0\u00a0This allows you to compare\u00a0brands,\u00a0and pick the size, style and features that are right for\u00a0you. \u00a0Not to mention, you get to &#8220;play&#8221; with your shiny new purchase the same day.\u00a0 All of these\u00a0advantages are experienced when\u00a0shopping at a retail store like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.staples.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Staples<\/a>.<a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Staples-HomPage.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2749\" alt=\"Staples HomPage\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Staples-HomPage-300x241.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Staples-HomPage-300x241.png 300w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Staples-HomPage.png 769w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was recently sent the Samsung Chromebook\u00a0for review.\u00a0 It is\u00a0without a doubt\u00a0the lightest laptop I have ever used; not to mention it&#8217;s very sleek.\u00a0 Similar\u00a0to the Samsung smartphone, the focus is apps, with several preloaded on the Chromebook.\u00a0 The laptop was so user friendly\u00a0that I gave it to my mom to set-up (i.e. non-technical person).\u00a0 She said it was a breeze and she was even able to set up two language settings (which she has on her home computer). One of the best features is the price.\u00a0 The Samsung Chromebook retails for approximately $270.<a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2746\" alt=\"samsung chromebook 2\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-2.jpg\" width=\"935\" height=\"815\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-2.jpg 935w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-2-300x261.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 935px) 100vw, 935px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->My graphic designer friend said that for her needs though, this computer wouldn&#8217;t be sufficient.\u00a0 The only\u00a0negative I found is that you can&#8217;t install Microsoft Office.\u00a0 However, if most of your computer use is\u00a0conducted via a browser\u00a0(i.e. e-mail, surfing, social media\u00a0etc&#8230;) and you have constant access to Wi-Fi, make the Chromebook your laptop of choice.<a href=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2747\" alt=\"samsung chromebook 3\" src=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-3.jpg\" width=\"1296\" height=\"972\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-3.jpg 1296w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mayahoodblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/samsung-chromebook-3-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1296px) 100vw, 1296px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Staples is the perfect place to buy your laptops, either in-store or online.\u00a0 The knowledgeable staff, the wide array of products and the easy to navigate site are only some of the reasons why I often choose Staples for my technology-related needs. Soon the smell of erasers and chalk at school will be a thing of the past<\/p>\n<p>I love that the 65+ age group said that a wood fire stove reminds them of school. It&#8217;s also a little strange how so many people said that sweat reminds them of school.
