After 2 years, Canada’s Wonderland finally opened its doors again to the public. Naturally, I couldn’t wait to get to the park for a visit with my boys. Not only do I have fond memories of going there myself as a child, but I’ve basically been taking the kids there since Kyle was two years old.

While restrictions have lifted, we are still living in a pandemic world. That means, things look and feel different at the park. So if you’re planning a visit there this season, here’s what you should know and expect.

 1. You will need to purchase your tickets online and pre-book your visit DATE and TIME in advance. While you are not allowed to enter the park earlier than your scheduled time, you can come ANY TIME after your scheduled time.

 2. Masks are required to be worn in the park when you are indoors (at restaurants and shops), in lineups, and on rides (with a few exceptions, like White Water Canyon).

 3. While they are restricting how many people are allowed to enter the park daily, there are still long line ups and wait times at rides. This is due to the fact that rides are only filling at half capacity (every other ‘seat’ remains empty or only individuals from the same household are allowed to be together). They also sanitize the rides frequently, which further caused a delay. Lastly, don’t forget that they have been closed for a full season. That means that there’s still a lot of training happening, which further causes delays. However, this will be remedied fairly quickly. 𝗧𝗜𝗣: to avoid line ups, arrive when the park opens, when it’s less busy.

 4. As mentioned above, rides are sanitized frequently. This includes seats, safety harnesses, hand rails and railings. Also, hand sanitation boxes can be found at every ride (both the entrance and the exit).

 5. Bring your own refillable water bottle as you can’t drink directly from the water fountains. Not to mention, there isnt’ a lot of shady spots, so pack your sunscreen and hats.
