I feel like this might be very common at the moment. I’m sure we all know a friend who had adopted a pet since the pandemic began. Of course our decision to adopt kittens didn’t come lightly… It went something like this:

Kids for the past 2 years: I wish we can get a kitten

John and I: We already have a cat and she’s great and healthy and still has a few good years left in her.

Kids during quarantine: lets include Kitty (our cat’s name) in all of our play.

The above lead to a lot of excessive holding and lovingly torturing of our 15 year old cat who just wanted to nap.

John and I during quarantine: Hey! Why don’t we adopt a kitten NOW?

I did some research about adopting kittens during quarantine. Realized that the best approach at this time would be to get one from a litter (not breeder). A friend told me that her friend had a litter and is looking for people to adopt them.

I reached out to her friend who told me that the two male kittens left have bonded but she is willing to split them up. After much thought, John and I decide to adopt them BOTH and surprise the kids with our decision (they have no idea we were even looking to adopt kittens). Here is the first of two videos of how we surprised the boys with the kittens….
