he gets to cut out pieces from the booklet for games. He enjoys both the cutting and games (but he is also learning about the days of the week, seasons, opposites, emotions, etc…)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nMy hope is that at the end of the school year and before he starts grade 1, he’ll feel confident in his ability to have a successful and HAPPY school year. I still believe that increasing his self-esteem is the most important benefit that will come out of this.<\/p>\n

We also decided to utilize these activity books with Kyle (9 years old) and Ryan (6 years old). Whenever they are looking to earn additional screen time or when they want to get out of a consequence, we give them the option of completing a few pages in their book (versus paying us $1 because they left the lights on in their room for the millionth time). They always opt for the books. I mean, who doesn’t like completing word search puzzles and writing all about themselves.<\/p>\n

I actually remember that as a kid, I would beg my parents for these workbooks because they always looked so fun. I’m hoping to instill the same kind of enjoyment with learning with my own boys.<\/p>\n
