I think it happened when Nate turned two. I looked around the house and without any hesitation I gathered up all of his baby gear, toys, clothes and products. I put them into three piles,: one to be passed on to my nephew, the other to be donated and the third was garbage. The purging felt great (and made my house look cleaner). While I’m typically a very sentimental person and a bit of a hoarder because I attach a lot of emotions to ‘things’, I didn’t actually feel sad. If anything, it felt good to let go of the baby stage, knowing that this was our last baby. I was ready to move forward to the next stage of our life with three ‘older’ kids.
