As a kid, I had a slight obsession playing board games with my family and friends. I was so excited when I became a parent so I could continue to play some of my favourites with my kids. I patiently waited until my oldest was around four before we started enjoying some of the classics. While most games can hold my children’s attention for a good five minutes, they tend to get weary, distracted, or “cheat” by the end. I put Monopoly back in the bin realizing that it’s going to be a few years before we can play as a family. But there is one game that we just fell in love with, including my husband, who is not a big board games guy.

My kids were first introduced to Pie Face over the summer when they spent the day at their cousins house. I received a video and a few hilarious pictures of my boys getting creamed! Yup, pie face is all about getting (or avoiding) whip cream in your face! It’s as much fun as it sounds and Kyle and Ryan have been on my case to get them this game ever since the first time they played it and I was waiting for a special occasion. As luck would have it, I received the new version, Pie Face – showdown, before Thanksgiving! To say the least, my boys couldn’t get their hands (and mouth) fast enough on the game.

If you’re not familiar with the game, the setup and goal is pretty simple. Put some Gay Lea Real Whipped Cream on the hand, countdown to 3, and press the red button. The person who presses the red button quicker will avoid getting hit in the face with the whip cream. However, the hand pendulum can swing back and forth between the players, so keep pressing on the red button… and FAST!

Here’s a demonstration by my kids:
