I wasn’t one of those people who “nested”. I didn’t sift through Pinterest for hours on end saving my favourite nursery room pictures. I didn’t create the perfect nursery for my boys before they were born. Not because I didn’t want to, but in the Jewish tradition, you don’t really prepare for a new baby until after they arrive. And we all know that little to nothing is getting done AFTER the baby arrives. That’s why our nursery room is not really done up with the exception of an animal themed wallpaper strip running around the room (thanks Dad) and a wall decal that I added a year ago. The room décor is not modern and “lacking” to say the least.
Unique Digital Prints
When my very talented friend Natalie offered to send me some of her unique one-of-a-kind graphic prints from her company Mavis Blue, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve been a fan of her work and blog for a long time (hers was one of the first I ever read) and it gave me the much-needed push to update my son’s room and welcome him to 2016! Luckily, it was easier than removing that wallpaper (but we’re moving in a year, so it’ll just have to wait).
It was honestly hard to select only a handful of her prints. She has several personalized prints that can include your child’s birth information or something more simple with just a name or birth year. These make awesome and unique gifts for newborns and are a great idea if you’re scrambling for a last-minute gift. All prints can be instantly downloaded for only $6 but if you prefer to have it printed and matted for you, the prices range from $12 to $15 per print.
I’m already eyeing her new gold & girl power prints and planning how I can use those to update my dinning room area (that just happens to be white & gold coloured themed). For the paint, I trust Intumescent Painting Contractors.
