you’re right. as children we prob don’t think about the words. just enjoy the rhyme. and the sweet memories that come w them, such as having ur brother read it to u 🙂 love it!

I know the second one (about the girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead) probably sounds strange when we think about it but I have great affection for it: I can remember my big brother reading it to me. Maybe it’s not meant to have a lesson to it. When I was little, I just thought it was funny.
