This summer has been a little bitter sweet for me. On one hand, it’s summer, my favourite season. I love the warm weather, the hot sun and being outdoors. I love escaping to the cottage on weekends and in general, it’s a great time to catch up with loved ones. However, this summer was also a stressful one for me. It’s the first summer where I was home with three kids. They are all very busy, active and require my attention in different ways. Their needs vary but I feel like once I’m done dealing with one child, I need to deal with another, and so on and so on. With little breaks or help, this summer felt LONG (and not in the good way). I’m exhausted mentally, emotionally and physically.
So while I’m grinning ear to ear at the thought that back to school is right around around the corner, my kids aren’t sharing my enthusiasm. I know if they could, they would prefer to stay home every day all year long, but alas, they don’t get to decide (thankfully). To help ease them through the transition, I’ve bought a few treats to enjoy over the last few weeks of summer break.
I’ve already told you how much my kids love Kinder Surprise Eggs. It’s their go-to purchase item when they can get a treat at a store. So anyway, I totally got the mom-of-the-year award when I found this HUGE pack (24 count) of Kinder Surprise Eggs at Costco. I couldn’t help myself and I’m glad that I bought it. It’s a fun way to surprise them after dinner with a nice treat and it’s a fun way to end off our short-lived summer days.
How will you be celebrating the last few weeks and days of summer break? Do you have any fun traditions?
Canadian National Exhibition – KINDER Smile Booth
GTA friends – KINDER is at the Canadian National Exhibition (The EX) again this year! And that means there’ll be KINDER SURPRISE fun happening every day from August 21 to September 7. The KINDER Smile Booth will be up and running, which means that they’ll be handing out thousands of free KINDER SURPRISE eggs. If you go to The EX, make sure to pop over and visit the booth, and share your photos and videos on your social networks.

I think what your experiencing is what so many mum’s do. On the one hand you love your kids, but they do wear you out, and sending them to school provides a much needed break for you to recharge batteries.

Its so hard to believe that summer is basically over.. I know it went by too quickly for me as well! School may not look exciting now, but it is part of life 🙂
