I don’t want to alarm you, but the holidays are fast approaching. In our home, we celebrate multiple holidays which means that the first one is less than a month away! While I haven’t started my shopping yet, I’m hoping to help you with yours. I’m going to let you in on a little secret about this season’s IT toy, Big Hugs Elmo. You might have already read my previous post about why our family loves him. It’s the HUGS! However, Big Hugs Elmo offers so much more for your child’s enjoyment.
Big Hugs Elmo Features
When you press Elmo’s left foot he will play pretend with you. Sometime he’s a horse, galloping, or an astronaut flying, or a frog that croaks or a rabbit that’s hopping around “boing, boing”. He will also invite your little one to dance with him while he sings a song.
Elmo being a big soft doll makes him an easy target for snuggles! Another great feature is that if you lay Elmo down, he’ll sing you a lullaby, say good-night, and my son’s favourite part is that he’ll SNORE. Let’s just say I won’t be putting Elmo in bed with my son while he’s still in the “on” mode because my son will just end up playing with him instead. There is a sleep mode for that!
Of course, the best part is receiving hugs from Elmo. My 3 year old’s favourite thing to do now is see how tight he can hug us. That means that the sayings we most often hear from our Big Hugs Elmo is “that’s too tight” & “gentle please”. It is pretty funny & we all have a good chuckle about it.
While Elmo is soft and cute and animated, it’s not SUPER soft. The body is a little stiff and hard from some casing but that’s because of the electronics and batteries that are required to make him so interactive. What he lacks in softness he makes up for in hugs and size. It’s a perfect companion for a pre-schooler but truly enjoyable at any age.
So now that you know all about this season’s hot toy, and the secret is out of the bag, you’ll have to get your hands on one quickly.
