It’s a new year and many people are on a quest to do things better like living a healthier lifestyle, getting organized and reducing stress. If you’re one of those people, I’m here to help you out with the first two things (and naturally, the third will follow). I recently got a chance to test out the Frigidaire Gallery Custom Flex Top Freezer Refrigerator as one of the #testdrivemoms and I can honestly say that … 1) I’m in love, 2) I’m finally getting organized and 3) I’m sticking to my resolution of eating healthy. Okay, so maybe I’m saying a few things, but they’re all true! This fridge is fantastic and can actually help make your life easier, and here’s why (and how)!
If you’ve been following along with my posts, you’ll know that I’m on a health kick. Not just for myself, but for my family as well. We’ve decided to live a healthy lifestyle and a big part of that is the way we eat. This means that my fridge is stacked with healthy food so when we’re craving something, we can easily reach in and grab a nutritious snack. The fridge has a great layout that allows me to easily store containers with prepared snacks and leftover food while ensuring that I take advantage and fully utilize all of the fridge’s space. I also really like the full length sliding drawer and the spacious crispers.
BUT… here’s the best part about the fridge: the door is completely customizable. I got to hand select door bins based on my family’s needs. With my previous fridge, one of our biggest issues was the bottom door bin. While it was meant to hold our taller items, it didn’t always work and if bottles weren’t spaced properly, the bin would fall out of the fridge all together. Let’s just say I’ve cried over spilled milk more than once (and sometimes over spilled beer). I also found that our old fridge’s layout wasn’t very kid friendly. Specifically, I wanted the boys to be able to get their own snacks such as cheese strings or yogurt but the way the fridge was set up, the only logical spot to keep these items was out of the kids’ reach. The new door bins are a perfect solution to allow our kids to grab their favourite snacks without me having to help.
Personally, our favourite bins are the medium-sized and pop cans bin. Even though we don’t drink pop, my kids love drinkable yogurt tubes and they fit nicely into the pop cans bin. Currently, my two year old is obsessed with these yogurts and we don’t really want him to consume more than two a day. The bin is a perfect solution as it allows my four year old son to easily reach for the yogurts but it prevents my two year old son as it requires a bit of a pull. The small bins are also great for stacking our containers full of pre-washed fruits and vegetables.
Of course, should your needs or family situation ever change, you can easily slide, move and adjust the bins as needed. I had to make a few changes myself before I found the perfect configuration. With over 100 ways to customize the door, it’s easy to see how you can find the arrangement that is just right for you!
