Nutella brownies from Bon Appe make a perfect dessert to share

As a kid, my favourite spread was Nutella. My parents often packed me a Nutella sandwich for lunch… Who am I kidding, this was the 80’s, I packed my own lunch.  But my love for Nutella didn’t end in my childhood.

Nutella is actually a pantry staple in our house. Which came in extremely handy during my pregnancies. While most people crave pickles and ice cream, I craved Nutella. I’m sure this had nothing to do with my 40 pound pregnancy weight gain but I digress. Nutella was my sanity saviour; After a long and exhausting day, it was nice way to unwind and relax.

Last month, I was sent a delicious package of baked goods from Bon Appe made with… you guessed it, Nutella. My husband and I quickly hid the package from our kids once we realized what it was. Not because we didn’t want them to eat it but rather, we didn’t want to share. The chocolate fudge brownies topped with Nutella and the chocolate chip cookies were delicious. My husband basically ate the entire brownie plate on his own.

The brownies were such a hit, I knew they would be great to serve when we were entertaining. Our summer weekends are spend time up at the cottage and we often have friends and family over.  We’ve already had a chance to share and serve this delicious dessert with our extended family from B.C. and with four families who cottage on our lake. The consensus was that everyone wanted seconds. Truly, who can resist Nutella.  It makes a great dessert for either yourself or when you’re expecting company.
