When it comes to razors, not all are created equal. I learned this the hard-way when I asked my husband to pick some up for me while he was making a run to our local Shoppers Drug Mart. He bought whatever was on sale (typical). It wasn’t my regular razor, but because I didn’t have any other options, I used it. The aftermath left me with cuts and dry skin. I immediately threw them out and vowed to never switch again.
The same is true for men versus women razors. Each is designed and built for the intended end users. The skin is different and so are the curves. Obviously my husband and I use different razors (although in emergency situations, we’ve used each other’s).
Schick Hydro has a new razor and I was recently asked to get my husband to try out its new and improved technology. The new Schick Hydro 5 introduces redesigned features to provide instant lubrication and hydrate your skin up to one hour after shaving. Here are some of the features of the redesign:
Added a Larger Guard Bar: The guard bar at the base of the cartridge has been redesigned – helping to better stretch the skin to provide a smoother shave.
Reduced Blade Span: The five Ultra Glide® Blades have been moved closer together, minimizing skin bulge between each blade to help protect from nicks and cuts.
My husband was on board, especially since he gets dry skin after shaving, and he was curious to see how this razor would perform. In his own words, here is what he thought about the razor: “Razor was great. Good shave. I’ll make the switch”.
