I’m not going to lie, but as a stay-at-home-mom, I find it really hard to keep my kids busy and entertained all day long. They probably get more screen time than I’d like, but my sanity has to count for something. Besides, I’m going on year 6, so the energy level and enthusiasm that I had initially has slightly diminished with each year and kid. In years past when I was pregnant, during winter we pretty much just hibernated in the basement playing hockey and watching television.
However, that doesn’t mean that I stick them in front of the TV all day long. I’m not a terrible parent! There are a slew of activities, games and toys for the kids. But my favourite ones always involve doing something creative. Arts and Crafts has always been a personal passion of mine, so I’m always eager to have the boys drawing, painting or creating whenever possible. My oldest son Kyle, who is 6 years old, has taken a real liking to drawing this year. He even asked me to buy him a sketch book. While his pictures mostly consist of sports, I’m just over joyed that he’s sketching!

What I don’t like about my kids doing art work is the aftermath. It usually involves a big clean up, scrubbing paint and markers off the floor and washing / sometimes throwing out permanently stained clothes. Enter every parents dream… Crayola’s Color Wonder markers! Ideal for kids ages 3 to 5, but my two year old son Nate and six year old son Kyle are both obsessed with them just as much! The mess-free Color Wonder markers and ink appear clear, but on Color Wonder Paper the colours comes to life! It’s almost magical.

My boys have been having so much colouring in dinasour and Mickey Mouse colouring books but also creating their own master-pieces.

Best of all, it’s a great activity on the go. It’s been so great for Kyle, who typically gets car sick. He draws and it keeps him occupied and I don’t have to worry about any mess to the car or to himself.
