Kidville Toronto, located at Yonge Lawrence Village, is fairly new to the city. However, the company is very popular in the states with locals and celebrities alike. It offers a variety of unique and fun classes for kids of all a ages including some with caregivers and some that are drop-offs. Recently, one of my readers had a chance to try out the Rockin’ Railroad program with her infant son T. Here is her review:

Having done an in-home music program, where the teacher comes to a host house, with my older son, I was excited to get this opportunity to try a class Kidville. The variety of programs and services they offer is amazing! But first, about the class …
I opted for a music class at Kidville because my first son really enjoyed his and I was hoping for the same with T – We loved it! What a great program for both kids and parents. Not only do they sing familiar children’s songs but they also sing others … I never expected to be singing and dancing to No Doubt, MC Hammer (you roll your eyes but admit it, you’d get a kick out of it!) or The Beatles at a children’s music class!
They use a great template where our friendly ‘conductors’ take the kids on a train ride to visit Izzy and Grandma while singing what become very familiar songs. Every week, the kids get to try out a new instrument, play it with different genre of music, learn a new letter, read/sing a book and dance. This was the only place T would sit on his own without support for a month!
One piece of feedback I’ve given them is to consider offering smaller drums for the very little ones. They have a size where T couldn’t really sit or stand in a way that he could easily play it.
Because we had to miss a couple weeks, I also had the opportunity to attend a Wiggle Giggle Together class as our make-up. I don’t know of other programs that are meant for siblings to attend together, so I was really happy to find it and try it out. The instructors were particularly great in this one because they made a wonderful effort of including all the kids no matter what the age. My eldest son tested them on that (he prefers to be an observer in new situations) and they won him over within a couple activities. Our favourite activity was the parachute!
Finally, back to my first point. You should really check out their website for all the programs they offer; quite impressive! In addition to that though, they have some great events. My husband took our oldest son to a private screening of the Lego movie. They also offer their space for birthday parties and host events for their members, eg. for Mother’s Day.
Finally, I can’t write a review on them and not mention that they have complimentary valet parking! Especially amazing in the Winter or when you have a big baby that makes the bucket car seat really heavy to carry more than 10 steps.
