I’m proud to announce that my family and I will once again take part in The Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure Walk. Whether you have been personally impacted by The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) or know of others, I encourage you to join my family and I on this walk which takes place on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Register today HERE.

Here is what you can expect during this fun-filled family event:

As a parent, there isn’t much we wouldn’t do for our kids. However, some things are out of our control. I often come to this realization when I see posts on my Facebook feed of my friends and their kids at SickKids. While my heart breaks for them and what they have to go through, I also know that we are fortunate to have access to such an amazing organization in our own backyard. My husband and I don’t take this resource for granted and have been supporting SickKids hospital since the day we arrived home from the hospital with our oldest son Kyle.

Last year, I shared two family’s stories about their experience at SickKids (HERE and HERE). Since then, I’ve heard of several other instances where friends and acquaintances have had to use SickKids services including an emergency visit after a fall from a bouncy castle and heart surgery for my close friend’s (3 year-old) daughter. Clearly these things are unpredictable, and while I hope that we never have to go to SickKids ourselves, or anyone else that we know for that matter, I sure am glad that we have access to the amazing staff at the hospital.

We will be there too! One of my boys has been treated there over the years and it’s been a wonderful experience. SickKids truly is a remarkable hospital with amazing staff and medical professionals.
