If you’re a parent, I’m sure you can relate to the excessive amount of pictures that typical parents takes of their kids. In my case, that excessive amount is usually around 700 – 1000 pictures a month (yup… you read that right). Also, if you’re like me, your pictures end up in well organized folders on your desktop and often never see the light of day. Sure, they’re organized on a hard-drive, but now what? While digital photography is a vast improvement from film, and the benefits definitely outweigh cons; the biggest con with digital is that we’re definitely less likely to print and display our beautiful pictures now.
The thing is, pictures are not just PICTURES. They’re moments in time. A way for us to remember a special day, occasion or a silly expression FOREVER. The details etched in a picture are saved in such a way that most of us wouldn’t recall with memory alone. Yes, I might have a slight obsession with pictures but I’m TERRIBLE at showcasing them.
How bad you may ask? Lets just say that my parents have six grandchildren, but they only have photos up of five of them. Four of my brother’s and one of my oldest son. They don’t have any pictures of my youngest son even though he’s almost a year old and they’ve been practically begging me to get them one since he was born. As if that’s bad, the picture that they have of my three year old is from his first birthday. Yup, the last one I gave them was from over two years ago. I’m a terrible daughter, I know!
But this year it’s going to be different. This year, printing pictures is going to be easy because I can do it at home! That’s right, at home. I didn’t create a lab at my house or anything fancy like that. Instead, it’s really simple. I’m going to use my HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer and print pictures at home, starting with some new ones for my parents. Not only did it take minutes to print, but the picture quality looks amazing; just as good as prints from a store.
While I was organizing my pictures looking for some great ones for my parents, I figured I’d keep going. Snapfish is a website that has some great printables to help you get your life organized including a variety of calendars, shopping lists, cards and colouring pages. Within a few minutes I had all of this at my fingertips which saved me a trip to the mall, something that is hard to do these days with the bitter cold weather and two active boys in tow. Aren’t these features amazing?
What’s your secret to showcasing your beautiful pictures? Do you print at home, at the store or do something else?

I really need to get some printed off. I too have fabulous pictures but non of them on the wall! The trick is to have a great printer to get the job done at home.

These all-in-one printers are fantastic! I currently use a colour laser printer, and take all my photos to a shop to get printed. The HP Photosmart 7520 looks awesome though.

What a fantastic printer! I have an HP printer but it is an older model. The picture quality is good, but the one you have looks amazing!

I love HP products! They are amazing!! Is it sad that I don’t have a printer at home!! Not even an old one that prints only black and white! Once done University I never thought I needed one. I would use the one at work occasionally but that was it! Now with kids in school, I need one!! There are so many adorable pics on my computer I need to print out!! I need one of these!

Since owning a digital camera we have been drowning in a sea of digital photos as well, although you take A LOT of pics a month LOL. I have tried to print my own (before owning a new HP Printer!) but they always came out dark and not wall-worthy. HP Photosmart is great for printing your photo exactly how its supposed to look with amazing quality! I have fallen for their snapfish printables too! I like the organizing lists and calendars for my mini home office! Thanks for sharing your insight!
