How to simplify your laundry routine!

I recently posted the following question on my FB page:

If you could afford to, and could only choose ONE, which would you choose?

1. Someone to cook for you (every meal)
2. Someone to clean your house daily (includes laundry and dishwasher tasks)

I was surprised to hear that most people said #2! Mostly because I’m not big into cooking, even though I LOVE eating. I guess ultimately, house chores seem to be never ending and at the end of the day, are CHORES! Whereas eating, is a part of our daily lives and routines. It’s a MUST!

Luckily, we’re fortunate to live in an era where appliances are readily available to help us with house chores like cooking, cleaning dishes and washing clothes.

I know that when it comes to laundry, some people hate it and some people love it. Personally, I’m on the fence. I love folding clothes but putting them away is a whole other issue! I literally had five baskets of folded laundry sitting in my bedroom for over two weeks. I finally put everything away this weekend.

There is some good news though that will help simplify your laundry routine. Maytag has recently launched a new extra-large capacity top load washing machine and extra-large capacity dryer that has so many great and useful features for effective and efficient laundering that will have you running to the store to get your hands on one. Here are some of my favourites:

Typically for me, I do five loads a week and that doesn’t include the loads that I end up having to re-do because I forget to transfer the clothes from the washing machine to the dryer in time (tell me I’m not alone). I would love to reduce the amount of laundry that I do. Maytag’s new large-capacity dryer can handle up to 26 towels! That’s huge people.

With three young boys at home, I can also tell you that I spend too much time trying to remove stains from their clothes. Maytag’s new top load washing machine has a PowerWash® setting that washes your clothes by increasing the water heat level over time. This helps ensure that it removes a variety of different types of stains including organic, food, oil and blood.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t own an iron. And while we have a steamer, it’s been a long time since I’ve used it. I often leave my house with wrinkled clothes because… TIME; I have very limited amount of it (to be allocated to steaming at least). The Maytag dryer has a Steam Refresh setting that reduces wrinkles by using a fine mist to refresh clothes with steam as they tumble. Genius, right?

I’m really amazed with all of the new features and I’m all for making life easier so I can spend more time with my loved ones and having more time for myself. Either way, anything beats doing house chores. Now if they only figured out a way to make these machines fold and put away the laundry…
