How HealthSnap.ca Helps Me Fight Cold and Flu Season (& A Giveaway)

Thanks to my good friend and brilliant writer, Ashley Bennion, who has published her first book titled Taking Night available for sale NOW, for writing this guest post for Mayahood blog.

HealthSnap.ca was easy to navigate and has tons of the products I use every day – including some personal favourite brands like Burt’s Bees, Live Clean and EOS. With Cold & Flu season around the corner (ugh) I decided to think ahead and stock up on the necessities my family needs to suffer through the season – rather than spiraling into a panic and having to rush out to get everything at the last minute. Did I mention if you spend over $50 shipping is free and fast and comes with bubble wrap that kept my son occupied for half an hour? Peace of mind for the sniffles…right to my doorstep quickly…free.

Here are the things I cannot live without at those first signs of sniffles:

MayaPic

Vicks FilterFree Cool Mist Humidifier

In my opinion humidifiers are the best way to help kids (or anyone with a cough or cold) sleep better at night. There have definitely been times when we have three of these going in one room. (No filter to clean also means no filters to buy so win, win…)

Lysol Disinfecting Wipes

These genius easy-to-use cleansing wipes kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses and are literally under every sink in my house. When a cold hits, I make sure to wipe everything down daily to try to minimize the spread of nasty germs.

Boogie Wipes Gentle Saline Wipes

Who knew it would be so hard for kids to learn how to blow their noses? Apparently it’s an impossible skill to master for my brood so until they do, these mild, saline wet wipes help keep their noses clean and comfortable.

Braun ThermoScan Lens Filter

When fevers hit, I go through these protective plastic caps like crazy. Picking up a couple of extra boxes means no one has to rush out in the middle of the night to re-stock (because let’s face it, that happens sometimes).

Live Clean Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Hand Soap

I love Live Clean products because they’re natural and plant-based and one of the best ways to ensure the whole family doesn’t come down with the flu is to wash hands frequently. And because this particular one is so gentle, their little hands won’t dry out.

Vaseline Baby Petroleum Jelly

This is a fixture at our house for dry spots brought on by harsh winters, but also for sore noses that come from being blown too often.

Bausch & Lomb Thera Pearl Eye Mask

When my kids are sick everyone is up at night. To avoid falling asleep standing up, I try to catch the odd catnap – an eye mask that that can be heated or cooled might make that a bit easier.

What are some of your must-have products for the cold and flu season?

Disclosure: Ashley received an online credit to make her purchases and experience everything Healthsnap.ca has to offer. However, the information and opinions presented in this post are her own.
