I’m so excited to have teamed up with Hasbro for this year’s holiday toy gift guide. I’ve had the chance to check out these toys in action both at various events and at home with my kids. I just love these line of products and I know that your kids will as well. Of course, these are just a ‘taste’ of all of the toy options available from Hasbro, but they are my personal favourites. So without further ado, here is my (Hasbro) toy gift guide for the 2019 Holiday Season; items in bold are part of the giveaway (scroll to the bottom to enter):

Toddlers

Sesame Street Love to Hug Elmo – Ages 18 months + ($39.99)
Who can resist cute and fuzzy Elmo! In celebration of Sesame Street 50 year anniversary, this is the newest Elmo doll which loves to give hugs, and he loves when YOU hug him, too! Squeeze Elmo’s tummy and he raises his arms and asks for a hug. Give Elmo a hug and he’ll respond with a phrase, song, or kiss! With fun phrases, songs, and plenty of hugs and giggles, it’s a great toy or gift for kids ages 18 months and up.

Porcupine Pop – Ages 4+ ($24.99)
The basis of this game is pretty simple – try NOT TO make the porcupine pop. Of course, watching his darts fly out is the best party (and hearing the kids giggles makes the mess all worth it). It’s simple, suspenseful and silly… what’s not to like! There’s multiple variations that kids can play this game to mix things up that will keep them playing this game for a long time and will keep them coming back.

Play-Doh Stamp ‘n Top Pizza Oven Playset – Ages 3 + ($27.99)
Whenever my kids say that they are bored, I always tell them to go and play with Play-Doh and it does the trick. Even with my oldest who is 9 years old. I love that this playset doesn’t require any batteries (or electronics) and it provides hours of fun. Kids can sStamp a pizza crust in the oven, then go wild creating and customizing. It’s a great play pizza set for kids who love to get creative with squishy materials (a fabulous replacement for slime).

furReal WALKALOTS; Interactive Pet Toy – Ages 4 + ($29.99)
furReal Walkalots Big Wags pets are basically a modern reboot of the string pully pets we had as kids (that are still a classic toys for kids). Kids can push pets along by the leash and they’ll move forward with wobbling heads, signature bouncy walk, and spring activated tail motion. They also make pet sounds and funny noises.

Disney Frozen 2 Fashion Dolls – Ages 3 + ($19.99)
How excited are your kids for Disney’s newest animated film – everyone’s favourite – Frozen 2. Now they can reenact their favourite scenes with these fashion dolls with removable outfits. Characters available are Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Matthias.

Star Wars Scream Saber Lightsaber – Ages 3 years + ($39.99)
A fun twist on the classic Star Wars Lightsabers. This one makes sounds like “Ah-Choo!” “Pew-Pew!” “Honk-Honk!” “Meow!” There’s also an awesome audio options that my kids had fun playing with. They were able to record their own hilarious and crazy words / noises and listen to the lightsaber repeat it. This Scream Saber Lightsaber is truly out of this galaxy!

Star Wars Remote Control D-O – Ages 3 + ($69.99)
Your little Star Wars fan is going to love this remote-controlled D-O toy. It rolls forward and backward, performs fun
360-degree spins, and makes expressive droid sounds.

Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures R2-D2, BB-8, D-O Action Figure 3-pack – Ages 4 + ($24.99)

Kids Ages 8+

If you have kids that are anything like mine, then they are probably obsessed with anything Nerf! We probably have 20 different Nerf blasters and water blasters, but it never seems to be enough. We usually use them for fun family battles, whenever they have their friends over, outdoors in the summer at the cottage or at the local park. While these toys are recommended for kids ages 8+, my youngest son Nathan has been playing with them since he was 4 years old and he’s just obsessed. I love watching him play pretend and use his imagination with transformers figures. He’s even able to transform them himself with little to no help from adults. Deluxe Class figures feature story-inspired battle worn deco and are equipped with 1-3 weapon accessories.

Beyblade Burst Turbo Slingshock Cross Collision Battle Set – Ages 8 + ($79.99)
This toy is at the top of Nathan’s holiday wish list and I can’t wait to gift it to him and see his reaction Christmas morning. While we already own a few Beyblades and stadiums, this one is much larger and he loves to have battles so I think he’ll really enjoy playing with this new one. With these Beyblades, kids can keep the Performance Tips in Battle Ring Mode to defend their position in the Beystadium, or convert them to Slingshock Mode to ride the rails and rush into battle.

For the adults:

Raising Hell – Adult Party Card Game ($24.99)
I’m so excited to play this game with my family and friends over the holiday season, enjoying some wine, cheese and a few good laughs. We love kids, but they are pretty funny so if you’re a parent, this game will be very relatable. The game comes with 300 caption cards and 72 photo cards. Players take turns being a judge, and the rest of the players draw 7 caption cards while the judge reveals a photo. Each player chooses their best caption to pair with the photo — it’s like creating a funny parenting meme in real life.
