It’s almost back to school and I can’t wait. Besides the part where I’ll have less kids at home so I can relax a little (sort of), it’s also fun because I get to do a lot of back to school shopping. Even though I’m not shopping for me, it’s fun nonetheless.
Kyle is entering senior kindergarten and we’re really focusing on having him put his best foot forward. While he can be very busy, loud and full of beans, he does have a quiet, shy and timid side too. He’s not great with change, and this year, he’ll be transferring to a new classroom with new classmates, a different teacher and a larger class size. That’s a whole lot of changes for an emotional five year old.
To help prepare him for the transition and to get him excited, we’re getting a bunch of new stuff for school. Besides the backpack, lunch box and clothes, we’re getting him new shoes too. Since Kyle loves to play sports and run (A LOT), it’s important that we get him proper fitted shoes.
I’ve written previously about the importance of getting proper fitted shoes for myself for running and the thing is, it is just as it’s important for kids.
Comfort, durability, support and looks are some of the key features I look for. I teamed up with New Balance to outfit my sons for the upcoming school year. The New Balance Vazee Rush kids shoes are made with a cushioned midsole for comfort and the hook and loop velcro closure are great to help them learn independence so they can put on and take off the shoes themselves. Of course, my boys just love the ultra-sleek design. Kyle is already excited to start school so he can show off his new foot gear.
Whether my boys will be racing each other up and down the street, to the park or around the school’s playground, I know that their little feet will be properly supported. Now that’s how you put your best foot forward!
Giving Back
New Balance has teamed up with the Girls & Boys Clubs of Canada. When you purchase a pair of kids shoes from any of New Balance store, they will donate $5 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. You will also be entered to win a package of school supplies with the purchase of a pair of shoes. It’s truly a win-win for your kids and those in need.
GIVEAWAY
You can also help your little kid put their best foot forward this coming school year. I’ve teamed up with New Balance and one reader will win a (1) pair of kid Vazee Rush shoes ($70 value). Contest open to all Canadians. Enter the giveaway via Rafflecopter (please give it a few seconds to load). Contest ends Friday September 4, 2015.

I always spend a little extra on good backpacks and running shoes. I buy these items for my Grandchildren to help out my kids every year because I know how costly back to school can be. I’ve found that buying cheaper made products in this case only leads to having to repurchase once sometimes twice more through out the year. Many thanks 🙂
