While Easter is new to me, my kids have been brought up with it. My oldest son Kyle is counting down the days till Easter and he can’t wait for the scavenger hunt. Apparently, he’s going to help both of his brothers look for their chocolate eggs. Whether my middle son Ryan will allow that, is another story all together.
I hit up the stores early this year so I wouldn’t be scrambling for Easter stuff last minute. However, I made the mistake of bringing Kyle with me. So while he did see some of the goodies, I kept the good stuff as a surprise. And by good stuff, I mean the Kinder Surprise eggs! In fact, for the past two years, my son has been calling Kinder eggs “Easter eggs”. It’s the cutest thing ever, so I didn’t have the heart to correct him. To say the least, he’s in love with Easter but may be confused when he finally figures out that Easter only comes once a year while he’s enjoying Kinder eggs year round.

This year, we’re celebrating Easter up at the cottage with my husband’s family. I’m excited to hide some chocolate eggs for my boys inside and outside the cottage. Kyle believes that the Easter bunny will be doing all of the hiding while he’s asleep sort of like how Santa delivers gifts Christmas eve. Besides that being the cutest thing ever, I’m so curious as to what he’s imagining the Easter bunny looks like. Either way, we’ll have lots of help from the family. In fact, my brother in-law’s specialty is hiding chocolate eggs so I know my sons will be in for a fun hide-and-seek scavenger hunt Easter morning.
Our cottage town also throws its own little chocolate egg hunt at the local park. Our lucky boys will get to enjoy a fun hunt twice this year. Besides, it’s a great way to get them outdoors and running around!
