As a kid growing up, before technology took over, my favourite activity to do with my friends was to play board games. One of my favourite games was THE GAME OF LIFE. There were the small cars, cute pink and blue peg people, and it was fun seeing what “job” you would have and how big your family would get. While I haven’t played THE GAME OF LIFE since my childhood, I’ve been living out the game in reality.
Just like in the game, I went to University, got a job, got married and had kids. While in THE GAME OF LIFE you get rewarded with money for having kids, in real-life, kids mean more spending and more challenges. My biggest challenge came when I had my own kids and my lack of preparedness or knowing how to “parent”. Recently after having my third son I found myself struggling… it’s been challenging to keep up with the house demands, my personal demands, my blog and most importantly staying awake to spend quality time with my boys. The truth of the matter is I needed help and there was no denying it. At the urge of my husband, I sought help and hired a nanny part-time. As well, I got my mom to help me out. Both are only temporary, until I get my feet back on the ground and some more sleep (i.e. uninterrupted). Sometimes it’s not always easy asking for help, but I know that in this case, it was the best solution for both myself and my kids. In all aspects of life, sometimes you need help. When that includes help on the road, CAA is there!
