Think back to your childhood toys. I bet you they were made by Fisher-Price. The beloved pull-string telephone, farm house with little people, record player, xylophone, cash register, camper and so on. They might be vintage to today’s kids, but many of our parents have kept these toys and they’re still in decent shape. This is what you can expect from a brand like Fisher Price. Which is exactly why several of our beloved vintage toys are now back on store shelves.
While vintage toys are making a come-back, Fisher Price has also continued to evolve with the times and the changing needs of our children. The makers of Fisher Price have come out with a revolutionary technology embedded in several of their new Laugh & Learn toys called Smart Stages. The toys’ content is meant to evolve with your child’s developmental and learning needs. This feature also further prolongs the lifespan of your toys.
With a switch of a button, you can change the level setting between 1, 2 and 3. The level details are as follows:
Level 1 , Explore (6M+) – First words and sounds spark baby’s curiosity
Level 2, Encourage (12M+) – Prompt baby though questions and simple directions
Level 3, Pretend (18M+) – Imaginative fun and early role play
Last year around this time, we received the Fisher Price Crawl Around Car, I wrote about how much my sons loved playing with it. I’m pleased to tell you that a year later, it still sits prominently in our living room as my 20 month old STILL loves playing with it. It’s pretty uncommon these days to have a toy with so much “kid enjoyment” longevity.
This year, we got to try out the Laugh & Learn Puppy’s Smart Stages Train. One of my favourite features is that the train moves when you press down on the smokestack. It also comes with three little characters including a dog, monkey and frog which are fun to play with either as part of the train or on their own.
I would highly recommend any of the new Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages toys which include, in addition to the ones mentioned above, the Chair, Vacuum, Mower, Home and Laptop. They make great birthday or holiday gifts and they’re sure to provide hours (and years) of entertainment fun for your little ones.

I had many favourite childhood toys! I wish I would have kept some of them to be able to look back a reminise. My Mother In-Law kept most of my Husbands and the grandchildren, and Husband still play with them now. I want to make sure to keep things like this for our child so when he grows up hopefully it will bring back some happy memories. I always loved Cabbage Patch Kids. I remember filling out the card to adopt them lol They’ve become popular again and I was so excited to be able to buy one for my niece last year for Christmas. It looks just like her! Cabbage Patch Dolls will always be cool!
