It’s hard to believe, but my baby son Nate is growing up. He started crawling in May and only a month later, he started standing. Before I know it, he’s going to be turning one then walking and then talking and then of to University. Okay… the last part might actually take a while, but seriously, everything is flying by. I wish I could just slow things down, even just temporarily. But, I don’t have a time machine so I march on. What I try to do though is cherish the moments with my sons. I love seeing Nate interact with his holder siblings, flap his hands up and down when we listen to music, and develop his motor skills. He is currently working on standing-up (mostly assisted). To help him out with getting to the next stage (walking), I was given the Fisher Price Musical Lion Walker.
It was designed by Fisher-Price experts to help baby develop fine motor skills, sensory motor skills, balance and coordination. I’m a strong believer in learning through play so I knew this would be great for him. While he’s still not interested in using the walker for WALKING, he loves playing with the lion and pressing all of the different buttons that make music and sounds. My middle son Ryan loves it just as much. He uses it to “race” around the house. If I learned anything about my boys, they all learn through imitation, so I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before Nate is up and walking / running too!
Last month, I became a new Aunt TWICE. My one sister-in-law had her fifth child and the other, her first. I remember having my first son and how overwhelming it all was. To make things harder, he suffered from colic. Nothing seemed to help him which meant I was overwhelmed and exhausted and didn’t have much time to rest as I was constantly holding him, rocking him or shushing him. The only thing that seemed to work and provide any sort of temporary relief was our swing. I gifted my brother and sister-in-law the Fisher-Price Deluxe Take Along Swing & Seat. This two-in-one product combines a stationary seat and a swing. I knew they would like it because it’s compact and ideal for smaller spaces. It also folds compact which is ideal since I knew they would be spending a majority of the summer between their home and the cottage. So far, it appears that they love their swing as much as I did. I’m happy I was able to provide my sister-in-law with some downtime, even if just temporarily.
Speaking of soothing and rocking babies, I also love the new Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Smart connect Cradle ‘n Swing. You can control the swing, choosing either side-to-side or head-to-toe, the swing speed (1-6), and the soothing motion, using your tablet or smartphone. Doing it from a distance (of up to 164 ft. away) allows you to make changes without disturbing your baby’s sleep. And we all know, you never wake up a sleeping baby! Another great feature is the ability to plug it in so you don’t need to worry about batteries.
Fisher-Price has made it easier for moms to enjoy some downtime. The only thing you need to worry about now is what you will be doing with that time (oh, the possibilities!)
