I remember not too long ago (okay… a long time ago, I’m getting old) when I used to go to camp and all of my clothes and personal belongings were labeled. Camp is like a jungle and when you’re in it, your belongings are free-for-all for the taking. If something isn’t labeled, you’re likely going to lose it or misplace it and it’s bound to go home in somebody else’s bag. This is why children’s labels are key and that’s why every parent needs to get them.
Unfortunately, kids and lost articles are not unique to camp. Parents have been experiencing this phenomenon for years in the school yard. Teachers are repeatedly reminding parents to label their kids clothes, shoes, hats and accessories. Just last week my oldest son Kyle lost his hat AND water bottle at school. Luckily, they were both labeled! The use of labels extends past both camp and school. Personally, we need labels for Kyle’s various sports gear including hockey, baseball and soccer, our water bottles, some of the kid toys and on our new, but very-popular, wagon that everyone and their cousins seems to own. A good friend of mine uses labels on all of her technology including her Smartphone and tablet. Labels are also great for labeling Tupperware, especially if you take it to a friend’s house or send it to your child’s school. Truly, the uses are limitless and labels are great for both kids and adults alike.
I was recently introduced to a new Canadian label company, MyLabelFactory.com. I was immediately impressed with the styles available. They come in a variety of Disney designs including Frozen, Mickey Mouse, Finding Dory, Princesses and my boys favourite, Star Wars.
I selected a school combo pack (which includes labels in a variety of sizes and shapes) of personalized Star Wars labels (Kylo Ren) for my two oldest boys and medium Darth-Vader (or “Hiya” as Nate refers to anything Star-Wars) circles for Nate who mostly needs labels for his water bottles and shoes. The best part is that the kid’s clothing labels are made with strong 3M adhesive material that doesn’t require ironing when applied to fabrics. Which is great because I don’t own an iron!
Kyle was all too eager to use his labels, proudly applying his custom Kylo Ren labels to everything he “owned” officially marking his territory and letting his brothers know that it’s “hands-off” if it’s labeled. Funny enough, most of the stuff he labeled were his Star-Wars gear (backpack, shirt, shoes, lunch-box, water-bottle, etc…) and toys.
The custom waterproof labels are laundry, dishwasher and microwave safe. They would also make great baby labels to put on bottles, toys, gear and more!

Right now – we are just labelling our sippie cups 😉 but with my little man starting school in September I will need to do much more than that. Those are super cute and love that he is getting involved and doing it himself!
