I’ve always believed that one year milestones are the best. They’re special in many ways. Whether you’re celebrating your first wedding anniversary, your child’s first birthday or your one year blog anniversary, the one year mark says “I’ve made it”. With kids, it says “We both made it”. I often congratulate parents as much as the infant when they turn one. It’s a special day for both the kid but truly, also the parent.
As if I need an excuse to throw a party… I like to go all out on my kid’s first birthday, but in different ways. For my first son, I invited our family and friends over for a big outdoor festivity. I ordered two cakes; one for smash the cake and one that was big enough to feed 100 guests.
For my second son’s birthday, we decided to make it a more intimate event, a simple dinner and only one cake. I’m not sure if the difference is due to birth order or to the fact that my oldest son’s birthday is in the summer and the younger one is in the thick of winter. Regardless, it was an important milestone and I knew we had to celebrate them both.
This month, Sears is also celebrating a one year milestone. Carter’s & OshKosh brands were launched at Sears Canada exclusively last year and they’re ready to celebrate their one-year anniversary! We’re such a big fan of Carter & OshKosh in our house. I can’t imagine my boys wearing any other pj’s. Sometimes, I wish they made their pj’s in adult size too 😉
As part of the celebration, Carter’s & OshKosh are giving away a trip for a family of four to Orlando!!! The trip includes hotel and air, full-size rental car, passes to an Orlando attraction and dinning passes. Enter the contest now!
Also, one lucky Mayahood winner will get a chance to win a $50 Sears gift card that you could use to purchase some sweet Carter & OshKosh clothes for your little ones. Contest is open to all resident of Canada,18+ (unfortunately, this giveaway excludes Quebec residents). Winner cannot win this contest on any other blogs participating in this giveaway; However, you can enter across as many blogs as you want.

I made a super-sized cupcake for the cake – for our first daughter I made two, one for her and one for the guests; for our second daughter I just made one for her that she didn’t really end up touching much so we were able to serve it anyway (plus the regular cupcakes that i’d also made).
