——————————————————————————————————————————————–
Until last summer, my brother and his family, including their four kids, lived in Edmonton. With very young kids of our own and without any other nieces or nephews in the area, Halloween in the past has been somewhat subdued for us. Fortunately, that all changed last year when my brother’s family moved to Toronto. New to the area, my brother didn’t realize how quiet his neighborhood would be on Halloween. With the kids all dressed up and nowhere to go, I told him to come down to my neighborhood where an entire street from one main intersection to the next, goes all out. There are tons of kids, awesome decorations, amazing costumes, lots of loot and someone even screened the entire Monsters University movie on a big projector screen on their front lawn. We have decided to make Halloween at our place a yearly tradition. It’s a great way for the cousins to spend time together and really enjoy the day.
Halloween is only a few days away and the kids are extremely excited about the big DAY. My oldest son is thrilled to host his cousins and I’m excited to have my three kids dressed up in cute costumes. Since we’ve embarked on a new tradition, I decided that this year, I will be making a new tradition of giving each of the family kids their own special treat bags. The bags will include a few dollar items from Target and Kinder Surprise Eggs. Even though they will probably each fill up a pillow case full of treats, I can’t wait to see their faces when they open up their treat bag from me. While this year it will be unexpected, I hope it will be something that they will look forward to each year, as we look forward to having all of the kids over for Halloween for years to come.
If you also want to make a special treat bag, make sure to pick up a limited-edition Kinder Surprise Transformer and Disney Fairies toys. My son loved unboxing his Kinder Surprise eggs to reveal, put together and play with the Transformer toys.
Do you have any Halloween traditions?

We don’t have any real traditions when it comes to Halloween other than to get candy and eat it lol.
I’m probably only going to take my son to a hand full of houses (he’s 2) and I’ll probably head to the store to get candy I like (like Kinder Eggs!).

Haha. We always buy the candy that we like to cause there’s always leftovers or pre-snacking going on 😉

Aww, I love how you all dress up! That’s awesome. We don’t have any Halloween traditions per say. For trick or treating, we tend to go to family’s houses after school let’s out. We really should just stop after that because family can be over generous and fill the trick or treat bags themselves. After we have supper, we go around our neighbourhood to houses of people we know.

We don’t but I was thinking of being the Switch Witch(you can google it :P) We just go trick or treating every year but I do little Samhain blessing and dinner when we get back. Once I park my broom 😉

I love the idea of creating traditions! My kids are older now, and they have so many great memories of Halloween and other celebrations. Sounds like your kids will treasure these memories too!

We always go trick-or-treating as a family and once we get home we order Pizza and watch a Halloween movie together! I look forward to it every year! This year will be different though, I will be coming out of surgery.. so no trick-or-treating for me. 🙁
P.S. My girls always know they scored big when they get a Kinder Surprise in their loot bags!

Aww! How fun! I love this post, Maya! I love Kinder and we gave Kinder Surprise out to LO’s classmates last year.
Creating traditions is so important for families. We go to our community hall after trick or treating and they have a party for the kids with contests for best costumes and they have games too.

My kids love Kinder Surprise. We always take our kids to family members house. They all spoil them with candy and treats. No need for going door to door
