I don’t know about you, but celebrating Canada Day has typically meant a road trip out of town. Whether it’s a visit to our capital city, camping with the family, taking a road trip or heading north to the cottage, Canada Day weekend has always been about taking a road trip and family. However, eating out frequently while on the road or eating mostly barbecued food doesn’t always sit well with me. As well, my oldest son isn’t great with long car rides as he tends to get car sick. These issues can add up to one big disappointment if any one of us gets sick and is unable to celebrate Canada’s Day.
To help combat some of these ailments, below is a list of trusted, over-the-counter products. The best part? These products are all made in Canada! Cool, eh?
Combat Nausea with Gravol
Planning a road trip or a long flight for your long-weekend getaway? Then you should be including Gravol as part of your medicine cabinet arsenal. For children who suffer from car sickness (or too many turns on the merry-go-round), try using GRAVOL Kids Quick Dissolve Chewables. These great tasting cherry-flavoured tablets offer the best in convenience and portability, eliminating the need to take with water and are great for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting and dizziness due to motion sickness. For similar relief in adults, try using Gravol Quick Dissolve Chewables in great-tasting zesty orange-flavour.
For adults who prefer organic relief, GRAVOL Natural Source Ginger Liquid Gel Capsules are a Natural Health Product made with naturally sourced certified organic Ginger (the only medical ingredient) for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting. GRAVOL Natural Source Ginger Liquid Gel capsules are taste free, easy to swallow, and non-drowsy.
Combat colic and gas with Ovol
Kyle was a very difficult baby. The first year of his life was a big haze. I always thought it was just because I was new to this “mommy” job. As it turns out, he suffered from colic. I wish I knew so I could try to combat his pains sooner. If you have a baby with a gassy tummy try Ovol Drops which provide gentle and fast relief of colic, bloating and gas. The pleasant mint-flavoured drops make them easy for parents to administer.
For adults suffering from painful stomach problem use Ovol Ultra Strength Softgels. They work quickly to break down trapped gas in the stomach and intestines. It helps gas bubbles fuse together making them easier to get rid of through belching or flatulence.
Diovol
Hands up if you’ve ever suffered from heartburn, acid indigestion or gas? ME!!! However, you don’t need to suffer in “silence”. Get fast relief with Diovol Liquid Plus Mint and Diovol Tablets Plus Tropical Fruit. Divol doesn’t stop the body from its naturally producing acid – it reacts to neutralize or buffer existing excess stomach acid.
What are you big plans for Canada Day long weekend?

My kids usually don’t get car sick, but I’m so glad I had gravol kids with me when we did a drive through the Almalfi Coast in Italy during spring break. It really did make a difference for my son!
