Earlier this month we received our beloved (and I’m not using that word lightly – we really love it) Springfree Trampoline. The boys (husband included) and I have been jumping on it daily – when we wake up, after camp, after dinner and everywhere in between. Besides jumping, the kids have made up so many games they play in the trampoline and they continue to come up with new, fun and imaginative games daily. It’s also become a hub for all of the neighbourhood kids – which makes my kids super happy. On super hot days we set up the sprinkler underneath the trampoline and the kids happily jump around while getting nice and wet to help them cool off.
One of our other favourite things to do on the trampoline is to use the tgoma (digital interactive) system which connects via Bluetooth to a tablet, and the kids use their body as the controller. The four sensors on the mat track their movement. My peronsal favourite is Alien stomp which is basically “wack a mole.” You can definitely work up a sweat playing this game, especially if you’re competitive like me, and you’re playing against others to see who will get the highest score.
My kids like POP which a balloon pop game (perfect for my youngest two) which you can pretty much keep playing until you get exhausted because there are no ‘levels’. Another favourite game is Snake – the kids need to jump to move the snake in the direction of the arrows to help them eat fruit and grow. A favourite when the older neighborhood kids come is to play Quizzle – an interactive quiz game that makes you jump either forward, back, left or right to select the correct answer. Categories include Geography, Music, Animals, and more. Sometimes it’s trickier to jump accurately versus figuring out the answer. It’s a great cooperative game and it’s fun to see everyone get involved even if they are not jumping.
This Quizzle game will be used in an upcoming Springfree Trampoline event to help raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.
Springfree Trampoline Summer Jumpoff Event
on Saturday, July 29 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m join two-time Olympic Gold Medal-winning trampolinist Rosie MacLennan at Young Dundas Square. Trampolines will be set up with the Tgoma interactive gaming system and guests will be invited to play a custom Canada 150 themed version of Quizzle. For each 150 questions correctly answered collectively by event guests, Springfree will donate one trampoline (for a total of 10) to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
Springfree Trampoline has specifically teamed up with Cystic Fibrosis for this great event because trampolines offer an exciting, low impact alternative to traditional exercise – a great form of therapy for those who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis.
Grab your kids, your parents and friends and come out and test out your Canadiana IQ, while having lots fun, getting in some exercise, and helping make a difference for a good cause.
