Fall is here and the holidays are around the corner (there, I said it). If you’re like me, you’ve already started thinking ahead and started your shopping (no? Just me?). I’ve rounded up a few of my new favourite finds that I think you will love too. If you discovered something new and amazing, please share it too!
Osmo Starter Kit
The Osmo is a total game changer in technology-based learning games. I received the Osmo starter kit last month and my kids have been playing with it daily! The Starter Kit comes with three different games: Words, Tangram and Newton. In the words game, your child has to determine the word based on a picture and find the letters to spell the word. In Tangram, the child arranges wooden puzzle pieces to match on-screen shapes like animals, objects, humans and more. Newton is like a pin-ball machine where your child needs to draw lines on a paper or add objects to help the balls reach the targets. I’m going to be purchasing the new Pizza Co game, that teaches kids about running a business and money management, for my oldest son Kyle for the holidays. This is honestly the best learning based kids app I’ve used. We deleted all other apps off the iPad the kids are using for Osmo and they didn’t even complain.
Playmobil Advent Calendar
I have to admit that Advent Calendars are new to me. Being Jewish, we never had one but last year, we started the tradition with my sons and it was fun. We didn’t do the chocolate ones, but rather, the one where they get an actual toy that they need to build. This year, I’m excited to give my sons the new Playmobil Hockey Advent Calendar. I know they’re just going to freak out. Each day there’s a new part that when all put together, creates an awesome hockey rink complete with a hockey playing Santa. As it turns out, Chanukkah falls on the same day as Christmas this year and my clever oldest son asked for TWO advent calendars. That won’t happen, but I give him an A for his smug request.
Netatmo Healthy Home Coach
As parents, we are always worried for our kids. But have you ever considered the state of your home environment? The air quality, temperature, noise and humidity are all factors to consider if you want to provide the optimal environment for your family. Netatmo helps you with that. Based on your family profile, the slim and beautiful Netatmo bar automatically detects the quality of those four elements on an on-going basis. The bar will indicate the quality by illuminating different colours – green for optimal and red for poor quality. Not only that, but Netatmo will suggest ways for you to improve those elements that need to be fixed. You can also see everything through the App. Giving you a peace of mind when you’re away on vacation.
marQ Clothes
My youngest two boys, Ryan and Nate, have been living in their marQ sweatshirts for the past month. They are soft, comfortable and stylish, but most importantly, they are keeping them warm when they are busy playing outside. Designed by Melissa Grelo, each piece is gender neutral and grows with your child so your kids can get lots of wear out of them, and you can save some money! These are perfect gifts for moms-to-be or that special little one on your holiday shopping list.
