Our house often resembels a mini ‘Toys R Us’… or at least a toy store where a hurricane recently went through. Luckily, we have tons of storage bins to put everything in for a quick clean-up. Not surprisingly in our house of boys, almost a third of the bins are filled with vehicles. This year, more than ever, my son got obsessed with Hot Wheels. When I asked him in the summer what he wanted most for his Birthday, he said Hot Wheels. When I ask him what he wants for the holidays, he says Hot Wheels. When we go to the stores to buy presents for other kids, he always suggests HOT WHEELS. We pretty much have a nice “small” collection of Hot wheels cars & tracks. Probably enough for a room in a museum.
While we do have a few different tracks, my son gets a lot of use out of them and enjoys playing with them regularly. That’s why I can’t wait to give my son the newest, coolest Hot Wheel activity set, the Wall Tracks Roto-Arm Revolution. The track sits on the wall using safe-for-walls Command strips from 3M. The motorized lift moves cars up the wall and when the cars descend down the track, a big green claw grabs them and moves it back to a higher track! How cool is that? The cars can race down and jump through claws or take a lower track and go back around again. Another great feature is that you can connect the Roto-Arm revolution tracks to other Wall Tracks to create a “super-awesome” (as my son would say) Hot Wheels world on the wall!

Check out this fun video Mattel created:

My son’s school holds a “Jingle Bell Bazaar” where children can purchase gifts for their family members for $2-$5. Last year he was in JK and I thought that this was a fantastic idea (I still do). I donated a number of items including some unused golf items for dads, some costume jewelry that I never wore for moms, etc. I went and helped him pick out some great presents for his Dad and baby brother and then asked the teacher to help him find something for me. The moment I saw the little silver box I knew that it was one of the items that I donated but without saying anything I helped him wrap it and on Christmas day I tried to act as surprised as I could.
