My warrior-dash send-off at Fitwall

For those of you who have been following my posts (thank-you), you know that I participated in the Warrior-Dash recently.  Before embarking on this crazy obstacle race, I trained.  My training included a cardio workout of running two or three times a week and also hitting Fitwall for some strength training.fitwall Collage 3

Fitwall is a great full-body exercise that truly targets all of the areas in your body.  You’ll be working out parts that you never even knew existed before or at least didn’t know that you needed to work-out.fitwall collage

For my last Fitwall class before the Warrior-Dash, I was sent of with a big hurrah. Fitwall invited my family, friends and blog readers to a free session.  While most people didn’t think the wall looked intimidating, everyone quickly learned that looks can be deceiving.  We got worked HARD and everyone was “nice” and sweaty after our 20 minute, full-body, vertical workout.

After the amazing workout, we had a friendly competition.  The three challenges were 1) who could hold the squat position on the wall the longest, 2) who can do leg squats the longest and 3) who can do the targeting exercise the longest.  I’m happy to report that a female won all three challenges.fitwall Collage 2

I want to thank Fitwall for the fun, yet down-right tiring night.  I can’t think of any better way to have prepared myself for the obstacles that I faced.  I knew I wanted to wear something “special” for the race, and that night I received the perfect shirt (stay tuned for my next post for pictures).  I hope I represented!  #TrainSmarter #VerticalTraining #YouAreTheMachinefitwall fun

Here’s a couple of testimonials from my friends that tried out Fitwall for the first time

I really enjoy staying fit and active, but I DO NOT LIKE the gym.  I have a really hard time motivating myself to go and I don’t like the machines.  I’m a little small for most of them anyways, so I’m more of a fan of training using your own body’s resistance and I prefer classes to working out solo.  I found that Fitwall is something that appeals to me.  It uses your own body’s work, rather than machines.

The instructors were excellent, they really focused on technique and not speed which was great. I was really not expecting it to be such a full body workout. I’m still feeling it 3 days later. I loved every minute of it…especially the last minute with the cold towels!!
